Mirrors are objects of representation. In everyday life, mirrors enable us to see a reflection of ourselves and to see how we are presenting ourselves to the world. Comprised of multiple overlapping curved ceramic forms, Distortion expands and challenges the conventional form and function of a mirror. Employing movement to create dynamic, shifting perspectives, Distortion is an alternate to flat, static mirrors. The ceramic components work in tandem to provide consistently distorted reflections–leaving the viewer with a sense of both fascination and uncertainty.
